QR Code Generator

Create downloadable QR codes for links, text, phone numbers, and more.

How This Tool Works

The QR Code Generator creates scannable QR codes from any text, URL, phone number, or other data. QR codes (Quick Response codes) are two-dimensional barcodes that any smartphone camera can scan instantly. Common uses: linking printed materials to websites, sharing Wi-Fi credentials, adding contact information (vCard), creating payment links, and tracking marketing campaigns with unique URLs per printed piece.

How to Use

  1. Enter the URL or text you want to encode in field A.
  2. Click Run. The QR code image is generated instantly.
  3. Download or screenshot the QR code for use in print, presentations, or digital content.
  4. Test the QR code by scanning it with your phone before distributing — ensure the link is correct.

Common Questions

What is the maximum amount of data a QR code can store?

A QR code can store up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 7,089 numeric characters. For URLs: keep them as short as possible. Long URLs make denser QR codes that are harder to scan in poor light or at small sizes.

How small can a QR code be printed?

Minimum recommended print size: 1 cm × 1 cm (0.4 inch). At this size, a modern smartphone camera can scan it from about 20 cm away. For business cards: 2 cm × 2 cm minimum. Always test print at the intended size before bulk printing.

Can I customise a QR code with a logo or colors?

QR codes have built-in error correction (up to 30% of the code can be obscured and still scan). This allows embedding a small logo in the center. Custom colors are also possible — but ensure sufficient contrast between the dark modules and light background.
